Celebrating women in our trade union movement – Cardiff Bay

Join TUC Cymru’s International Women’s Day event to celebrate the women in our movement who are fighting for a better, fairer Wales.

Location: Pierhead Main Hall, Pierhead building

Wales has a proud history of women trade unionists from Abertillery nurse Thora Silverthorne to Elizabeth Andrews from Hirwaun whose motto of “educate, agitate and organise” still inspires many today.

At this event in Cardiff Bay’s iconic Pierhead building we will celebrate the contributions of current Welsh trade unionists. We will hear inspiring stories of courage and overcoming adversity from speakers from across our movement.

Speakers will include participants from TUC Cymru’s Black Activist Development Programme, Newid! programme for young activists and trade union reps.
